This software allows you to use solar energy more efficiently (although photovoltaics are not a requirement), while also enabling you to participate in the energy market and earn from it—specifically by providing flexibility services.
Every power grid operates based on planned electricity production and consumption. In reality, however, actual usage often differs from these plans, creating what’s known as an imbalance. At times, the grid has excess energy; at others, it experiences shortages. Infimeo automatically responds to these situations – supplying stored energy to the grid when there’s a shortage, or storing excess energy when there’s a surplus. In return for this support, users receive monthly compensation.
In addition to flexibility services, the system functions as a reliable backup power source. When combined with solar panels, it helps optimize energy consumption, reduce energy costs, and significantly lower your carbon footprint.
Requirements for installing a smart battery storage system
Infimeo is a smart battery solution designed primarily for households living in single-family homes. Under certain conditions, it can also be implemented in apartment buildings. Having solar panels installed is an advantage and helps reduce energy costs, but it is not a requirement.
Infimeo is equally well suited for small and medium-sized businesses. Whether a company operates in a standard 8-hour, 5-day work regime, runs continuously 24/7, functions as a mixed-use property, or has irregular operating hours is not critical.
A more relevant indicator than the type of operation is annual energy consumption. Infimeo is suitable for businesses with consumption of up to 500 MWh per year. When combined with solar panels, businesses can receive monthly rewards from SSE. The amount of the reward depends on the level of consumption and several additional factors.
Meeting the criteria required for installing our smart battery storage is relatively straightforward – for both businesses and households. Specifically, there are five key requirements:
- has an EIC code,
- equipped with a 4-quadrant electricity meter,
- the household/company has a sufficiently sized electrical distribution board to accomodate the control unit,
- a customer of SSE (you can become a client not only in the Central Slovakia region, but anywhere across Slovakia),
- grid feed-in approval (for households).
Custom design of a smart battery solution
Once you meet the basic requirements for an Infimeo smart battery solution, it’s time to move on to the design phase. We approach every project individually, creating a tailor-made solution that makes the most sense for each client—both functionally and financially.
As a first step, we obtain detailed consumption data from your electricity supplier. This information is essential for calculating the optimal capacity of the smart battery storage system. Naturally, energy consumption differs significantly between a household and a business with continuous 24/7 operations.
We offer hardware from two leading battery storage manufacturers: Huawei and Pylontech. Pylontech provides all-in-one solutions that include a built-in GoodWe inverter and backup power functionality.
Huawei battery systems, on the other hand, are smaller and more compact. They also stand out for their low noise levels, high durability, and the option to connect a backup box, which enables the battery to function as a backup power source.
Based on our analysis, we determine which solution is expected to deliver the highest overall benefit. We ensure that the selected system is neither oversized nor undersized. How the Infimeo installation works
One of the key advantages of our smart battery solution is turnkey installation – we take care of everything for you. Infimeo systems can be easily installed indoors and, in the case of Huawei batteries, also outdoors. Huawei systems feature IP66 water resistance, withstand pressure of up to 5 tons, and operate reliably in temperatures ranging from –20 °C to +55 °C. In contrast, Pylontech smart battery storage systems are designed exclusively for indoor installation.
The installation process itself takes place in two steps. The first is a site inspection. During this visit, our technician comes to the planned installation location (your home or business), assesses the space, prepares the necessary photo documentation, and adapts the electrical connection scheme to the specific project. Based on these parameters, we then present the final technical and price proposal.
Once you are satisfied with the offer and approve it, we proceed with the installation. This is carried out without major construction work, as the system operates on a plug & play basis. In most cases, the smart battery storage system can be installed within a single day. Commissioning depends on the completion of functional tests and the connection of the system to the distribution grid. From the moment Infimeo goes live, your household or business begins generating passive income.
