Smart battery storage: Why does everyone want them in their home today?

you can install Infimeo in your garage

“Earn while you sleep.” It’s not a gimmick, it’s how game-changing technology works. With Infimeo’s smart battery storage, you get technology actively working with energy in your households or business. Automatically, intelligently and with the option of a regular monthly income.

What is smart battery storage?

Smart battery storage is a device that can do more than just passively store energy. Its role is to manage the flow of electricity intelligently, according to actual consumption, production, energy prices and the situation on the grid. Thanks to its connection with intelligent control, the smart battery can:

  • charge when electricity is cheap or available from renewable sources,
  • discharge when it is convenient or when it helps to stabilise the network,
  • minimise wasteful surpluses,
  • and earn money by providing a flexibility service.

Smart vs. Classic battery – what’s the difference?

At first glance, they may look the same. But in reality, there’s a fundamental difference between a traditional battery and a smart battery.

Classic battery:

  • Charges (from photovoltaics, from the grid)
  • It consumes energy to run your household/company
  • The payback depends mainly on the amount of energy saved, but it is also influenced by other factors (electricity price, usage pattern or available subsidies).

The Infimeo smart battery plays in a higher league:

  • Actively manages energy flow according to the needs of the grid and your household
  • Capitalizes on providing flexibility to help stabilize the power grid
  • It also works without photovoltaics (if the necessary conditions are met, such as consumption, ability to supply the grid, etc.)
  • Returns from as little as 5 years

While a classic battery can help you save money, Infimeo can earn money for you also.

How does smart battery storage work?

1. Energy production. Your photovoltaic system produces solar energy. Infimeo tracks in real time how much you are producing and how much you are currently consuming.

3. Consumption. You use electricity as you are used to. No restrictions.

4. Flexibility. There are always differences in the network between planned and actual consumption. These fluctuations have to be compensated by someone. Infimeo battery automatically charges when there is a surplus on the grid and, conversely, discharges when there is a shortage. SSE will reward you each month for this help to the network.

5. Backup in case of failure. Infimeo can also act as a backup source. For example, when the power grid fails, your household or company has a source from which it can continue to draw electricity thanks to the backup power supply.

EMS as the heart of the smart battery

It’s not just the hardware that sets Infimeo apart from ordinary batteries. At the heart of the whole solution is an intelligent EMS control system . It is this system that allows Infime to “think” and make decisions in real time. It collects and analyses a lot of data on:

  • electricity consumption and production in your house,
  • the available battery capacity,
  • the situation in the power grid,
  • current prices for grid assistance,
  • photovoltaics production forecasting,
  • the needs of the electricity supplier.

The result is intelligent energy management that:

  • maximises the use of your own green energy (if you have photovoltaics),
  • ensures you have power when you need it.

Why are smart battery energy storage systems becoming more popular?

Until a few years ago, smart batteries were the preserve of large companies. Today, they are becoming commonplace in households and small enterprises. Why? Because they bring control, savings, security and the opportunity to make money, all at affordable prices.

1. Cost savings and stability

Smart batteries come at a time when people are looking for solutions to save, to gain stability, to control energy. A technology that was only available to large bussinesses a few years ago now costs less than a new car. Unlike a car, it gives you extra income every month for providing flexibility.

2. Greater self-sufficiency and protection against outages

Unexpected power cuts can disrupt your whole day. However, Infimeo can act as a backup power source that eliminates the impact of a grid outage on your key systems.

3. Ability to capitalize on energy (flexibility)

With a classic battery, you just use up the electricity. With a smart battery, your household becomes an active participant in the energy market. Infimeo helps to stabilise the grid and SSE pays you a reward every month.

The environmental bonus – green energy without compromise

The Infimeo Smart Battery helps:

  • reduce the carbon footprint of households and bussinesses,
  • minimise wasteful use of surplus renewable resources,
  • stabilize the grid without the need to activate fossil resources.

Being green is no longer about compromise. With Infimeo, you don’t have to choose between finances, convenience and taking care of the planet.

Why is Infimeo more than just a smart battery?

Infimeo brings together the best:

  • Quality hardware from Huawei or Pylontech – proven technologies with a long service life
  • Own Energy Management System by FUERGY- Slovak technology at the world level
  • Exclusive cooperation with SSE – regular remuneration for providing business flexibility from the supplier
  • Infimeo app – all data on consumption, production, savings and earnings on your mobile phone

Smart battery storage is changing energy in much the same way that smartphones have changed communications. Infimeo gives you the opportunity to be part of this revolution.

Frequently asked questions and answers

How much can I earn with Infimeo?

The amount of the financial reward depends on the size of the circuit breaker, your electricity consumption, whether you have photovoltaics, the size of the photovoltaics, the capacity of the battery storage. Equally important is the regulation potential of your off-take point or the permitted supply to the grid. For bussinesses, the amount of reserved capacity (RK/MRK) is also a factor.

I don’t have photovoltaics, but I am considering it. Can you install it for me along with the battery?

If you don’t already have photovoltaics, we recommend that you have them installed by a photovoltaic supplier through SSE. You can also order a smart battery storage system from SSE called Infimeo. The battery will allow you to use the energy you produce efficiently and make money from it at the same time, shortening the payback on your investment.

If you already have photovoltaics, we will connect Infimeo to it additionally. We will supply a smart battery storage compatible with your setup..

Can I use Infimeo without photovoltaics?

Yes, you can. However, we need to do an initial analysis first and, among other things, find out if you are allowed to supply the grid (in the case of a household). If you are planning to install photovoltaics in the future, the Infimeo battery will complement it effectively.

I have both photovoltaics and a battery. Is it possible to make a smart battery out of it?

Yes, if your battery is compatible with our system, we can add an Infimeo control unit. This means that your battery will no longer just store solar surplus, but will actively manage its usage and assist the grid, allowing you to capitalise on commercial flexibility.

What is the lifetime of smart battery storage?

The minimum lifetime of an Infimeo battery is 10-15 years (depending on the manufacturer). However, the user can influence it – both positively and negatively – by the way it is used and the number of charging cycles. For example, you can extend the life of the battery by using the Infimeo control unit: among other things, it optimises charging and discharging so that battery wear and tear is slowed down.
